New squad ready to go!

This Saturday 3rd August sees Fleet Spurs Football Club visit league rivals Epsom and Ewell Football Club for a 3 pm kick off at High Road, Chipstead.

The new Fleet Spurs squad has worked hard during preseason and has two more sessions in advance of the first big challenge in West London. The fixture will be a useful barometer for the new management team and squad having lost and drawn against Epsom and Ewell in September 2018 and April 2019 respectively.

Although the squad has not yet been selected, it is likely to include a number of debutants with the club having made numerous signings during the close season. It will also be interesting to see if any youth players will make the first selection. Louis Lyndsay, Brendan Nago, Max Billingham and Ed Chillery have all impressed during the preseason action and all four will be hopeful of a call-up.

First Team Manager Adrian Wilson said "I'm really excited to see how the new squad settles during the early stages of the season. We will push hard for points v Epsom and Ewell but we also know that patience will be important as numerous new players establish themselves."

Director of Football James Simms went on to say "The hard work has been done. Everyone has committed to preseason and the progress made has been significant. It's now time to translate that work into a good performance on Saturday." Simms continued "This is also an opportunity to wish our new players and management team well for the season. We, as a club, have come a long way in the last six months and the future looks bright. Good luck to everyone this season."

Epsom and Ewell is a very good club who welcomed us warmly last season and we look forward to seeing them again on Saturday.
