On Saturday 11th September, our popular Junior Academy will resume at Southwood. We are delighted to announce that last seasons coaching staff will be returning, along with some new additions.

The Junior Academy is open to players from Reception and Year 1 - however newly starting Year 2 players are welcome to join as their first steps into football.

Our intention is to build on our solid community values, by offering an environment that supports young players at the beginning of their footballing journey. Our coaching programme aims to offer players the chance to learn, develop and explore the key elements of team sport. We base our programme around the FA’s four corner model, which promotes the importance of learning the technical (passing/dribbling), physical (movement skills), psychological (decision making) & social (making friends) aspects of the game.

The coaching staff have completed their FA Playmaker course and are all qualified to a minimum of FA Level 1. Alongside their technical qualifications, they hold up to date CRC, safeguarding and emergency aid accreditations. Our coaches also commit to an internal coach development programme implemented by the football club.

Sessions take place at Southwood Playing Fields, Kennels Lane (opposite BMW), which is the home of Fleet Spurs Football Club. Registration is 09:15, with a prompt 09:30 start time. Sessions last for 60 minutes, finishing at 10:30.

The cost per session for the Junior Academy this season will be £5.00. This will be paid termly, directly to the football club. Please see below the term structure:

Course 1: September 11th 2021 - October 30th 2021 (8 sessions) £40.00

Course 2: November 6th 2021 - December 18th 2021 (7 sessions) £35.00

Course 3: January 8th 2022 - 26th February 2022 (8 sessions) £40.00

Course 4: March 5th 2022 - 9th April 2022 (6 sessions) £30.00

Course 5: April 23rd 2022 - May 28th 2022 (6 sessions) £30.00

Course 6: June 4th 2022 - July 16th 2022 (7 sessions) £35.00
