Fleet Spurs travel to Wessex Premier League side Hythe & Dibden (The Boatmen) on Tuesday 31 August 2021 for a Round 1 tie in the Hampshire FA Senior Cup. Both teams will probably be looking forward to a game away from the league, where neither side have secured any points.
In their last game H&D lost 0-2 at home to Cowes Sports, which appears to have been an interesting encounter with 2 red cards (Captain Aaron Dunne & Matt Doel (2 yellow cards)) & a missed penalty for The Boatmen.
Hythe & Dibden have added to their squad of late, two loanees: Centre Back & Man of the Match in The Boatmen’s last game Lawson Bright from Vanarama National League South Havant & Waterlooville (Fleet Spurs have entertained H&W at Kennels Lane, but we wont go into that) and Connor Manderson, a goalkeeper at Portsmouth FC.
The Boatmen had mixed results over the most recent seasons in Division 1; 10th in the Covid curtailed 20/21; 4th in 19/20 & 3rd in 18/19, but with the special arrangements because of Covid, they were promoted to the Wessex Premier League starting Season 2021/22.
