Fleet Spurs 5 - 0 Twentyten

The strange hot and cold weather of the week continued into Saturday with blue skies and baking sunshine at kick off time and Mr Mick Ridge, the match referee, wisely allowing water breaks.

Our visitors today are Twentyten, a Basingstoke based team who finished last season, mid-table in Hampshire Premier League Division 1.

Both mnagers could claim they did not have their preferred players available but Fleet Spurs, rebuilding a team again this season, need every opportunity for the players to get to know each other. However, it was good to see legendary ex-Fleet Spurs First Team player Dan Bone (currently playing for Knaphill), making a guest appearance at his old stamping ground.

3.03 FS. Good passing moves between No. 8 Charlie Groves and No. 10 Dan Bone, attacking the
left wing, and culminating in a fine low cross with pace across the middle of the penalty where Dan Bone arrives in space and has time to pick his spot and hits the ball first time with a low shot to the keepers right.

3.05 FS through ball to No. 10 Dan Bone. TT keeper and No.10 chase the ball down. N0. 10 wins and chips the keeper. The ball hits the inside of the post but comes back into play and is cleared upfield.
