Saturday 28th September sees Fleet Spurs play a crucial Combined Counties Division One match v a good Kensington and Ealing Borough team at Kennels Lane. Kensington are flying high in the league in 4th position but lie only 3 points clear of Fleet who sit in 13th. Therefore, a win for the Spurs would make up ground and fire the promising side to the upper half of the table.
It is fair to say that Fleet have blown hot and cold in recent weeks. There have been outstanding performances in matches v Cobham FC and, despite the loss, against Eastleigh FC. However, there have also been poor performances against Tooting Bec and Milton Keynes Robins in recent weeks. Ever-present defender Doug Noble said "Our season so far has been like Stevenson's strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. We have to change that. I know it and the boys know it. I invite the Fleet community to come to Kennels Lane on Saturday and to produce a performance." Noble continued "The performance level versus Cobham FC was superb. That win was thoroughly deserved and we need to continue that form on Saturday."
Kick-off is at 15:00 and the gates open no later than 14:30. The tea bar is open serving hot and cold drinks as well as hot food and snacks. Come and support your local club.
