Fleet Spurs Men's First Team travel to Tooting this Saturday 12th October to face familiar rivals Tooting Bec FC in a crucial Combined Counties Division One match. The Spurs are on a run of five consecutive league defeats and a total of seven defeats from eight games whilst Tooting have strung together a series of positive results. Indeed, Tooting faced The Spurs at Kennels Lane only three weeks ago and ran out 4-2 winners on a hot and dusty day in Hampshire.

Joint manager Alan Reed said "The last match was a completely different proposition. We played in very dry conditions on a very hard pitch. Today in Tooting will be wet, slick and fast play. Let's see who will fair better." Reed has a point. Whilst the two sides may well be similar based on personnel, the conditions could not be more different. A key question for today will be who will manage that change better.

In the build-up to today's match, we also spoke, briefly, with top scorer and new father Andre Smith. Please take a look at the interview below.

James Simms: Andre, how has your week been?

Andre Smith: Wonderful. It couldn't have gone any better. I'd like to introduce everyone to Christian Solomon Smith my new baby and third child.

James Simms: Congratulations, Andre. Are you playing on Saturday?

Andre Smith: Yes! My partner and I have agreed it is a good idea. Everyone is healthy and well and I can't wait to get onto that pitch and score some goals for Christian.

James Simms: What's your prediction for Saturday v Tooting Bec?

Andre Smith: I think it will be a good game. Tooting are a good side but they are beatable. I predict goals. I also think it will be a fast-paced and expressive game of football. Both teams have good players and we'll see who can get on top.

James Simms: Can we expect a special goal celebration from you on Saturday?

Andre Smith: If I score, I have something planned, yes. I'll give you a hint: it will be enigmatic.
