The Potters (no not him, Verwood Town), are visiting Southwood for this Wessex Football League (WFL) Division 1 fixture. Verwood Town was our first game back in the WFL this season way back in August 2021, which was a tough introduction for us being on the wrong end of a 5-0 result.
Tenth place Verwood have had a steady season since that win against us, winning 12 of their 29 games they sit mid-table, not close enough to be in with a shout of the playoffs but well clear of any relegation worries.
The recent form of The Potters is just one win in 6 league games, albeit they have played 3 of the top 5 clubs in that time. They also lost 3-1 at Millbrook who we took all points from in a dramatic last-minute-of-added-time goal 1-2.
Verwood Town player to watch out for: Oliver Davies who has scored 20 goals in 23 league games.
Fleet Spurs resume their quest for points to help move them out of the bottom 2 (now that Infinity have withdrawn) fresh from our most recent win away at Millbrook, see above, Spurs goals scored by Tom White and Ryan Goddard.
Current standing of our nearest rivals:
Although Spurs are relying on other results to go our way, we can improve our chances by earning as many points as possible before the season ends.
As we've seen at Millbrook, our never-say-die attitude may be the factor that makes the difference. Come on Spurs.
