On Tuesday 17th September 2019, Fleet Spurs Football Club makes an important and exciting visit to The Silverlake Stadium to play a Hampshire Senior cup match v Eastleigh FC.
Fleet Spurs made it through to the stage after a superb home win v higher level opposition in Solent University. Goals from Andre Smith and Liam Jupp in the first half were more than enough to see off the Southampton-based opponents. Since then, the form of Fleet Spurs has been weak with losses to Jersey Bulls, Bedfont and Feltham and, most recently to Milton Keynes Robins in the FA Vase only two days ago.
Playing on the lovely surface at Eastleigh FC is an excellent opportunity for The Spurs. Club captain Adam Bellmaine said "The boys are really looking forward to this one. We go to Eastleigh with nothing to lose and everything to gain. I want a good performance out of every member of the squad." Bellmaine went on "A midweek cup match under the lights at Eastleigh should be a highlight of our season but it will be extra special if we can push our opponents really hard."
Playing a Southern Conference side will be an outstanding challenge for the Spurs and all of us at the club are looking forward to the experience.
